Our sponsors DEGESU-SEP and OSA will be providing a number of scholarships to graduate students and young researchers to attend the 2017 LAOP Workshops through the organizing committee. The scholarship covers hotel, double occupancy, and two meals during the attendance to the Workshop sessions. Transportation to and from Guadalajara should be covered by the attendants.

In order to apply for a Workshop scholarship you have to do the following:

1. It s desireable to register on the 2017 LAOP Workshop website before 12th February 2017. We are limited by our hotel high room demand.

2. A two-page abstract should be submitted on the student current research no later than two days after your registration. Poster sessions will be organized to enhance interaction between speakers and attendants and there should be discussed. If accepted, the student should bring a poster to the Workshop.

3. A selection of the best papers will be published in two recognized journals. The most outstanding will be published  in  the “Computación y Sistemas” Journal, ISSN 2007-9737, print ISSN 1405-5546 (Indexed by JCR and CONACyT). The rest of the accepted papers will be published in a Special issue of the Research in Computing Science Journal, ISSN 1870-4069 (Indexed by DBLP, LatIndex, Periodica).

Scholarships will be announced on the website and students are asked to confirm their assistance as soon as possible, otherwise to benefit another student providing him/her with enough time to secure sources of transportation. The award will be personal, single person and no transferable. It is required to attend all the conference(s) of the selected workshop sessions. If you requiere a formal admission letter, please let us know.

It is quite important that you submit your document on time to waive the registration cost. Our source of funding is limited, therefore researchers with available funding will be encouraged to support a total or fraction of the workshop cost and you will be provided a preferential hotel rate. If by any reason you desire a single room, with the difference at your expense, you have to give notice far in advance not to increase our total cost. The same recommendation is done for early departures and late arrivals.
